On an African Safari

Despite all my grand plans at the start of the year, this blog has been sorely neglected. I have been very busy in my sewing room and in general life however. My current project is starting to really come along now, and I’m loving it!

I had dreams of a fun giraffe quilt last year, so I got the paper and pencils and started drawing, but then soon changed plans from just giraffes to an agglomeration of African animals. The giraffe is still one of my favourites in this quilt though. Here is the quilt thus far, now I need to sort out the fun, colourful sashing I have planned to go in between all the blocks.

There were many hours spent earlier this year drawing up all these animals and a few others that didn’t make the cut. There was a lot of searching through all my fabrics and a few new purchases also as I endeavoured to find the the right make up for each animal. It was all definitely worth it. Hopefully I’ll be a bit more diligent going forward with posting here, however for the most up-to-date happenings please head on over to my Facebook or Instagram and follow me there. I am able to much more quickly and easily post up pictures over there.

Till next time,

Happy Quilting!
