Cornrow Quilt Finished!

And finally it is done! It's always such a great feeling to finish those last few stitches and to cut off your last thread. After many hours of cutting, piecing, trimming, basting, quilting, and binding it is finished!

For such a simple pattern I think this quilt is really quite effective. And because of its simplicity I was able to have fun playing with some different quilting designs, which is always fun! I"m nowhere near where I'd like to be with my free-motion quilting yet, but it's getting better with each quilt so I'm satisfied.

I'm really quite a fan of the backing fabric I found for this quilt too, it just goes so well with the purples and the triangles. I was just about to settle for a backing that I was only kind of ok with when, walking up to the cutting counter I found this one, away from all its friends and on clearance! So I bought all that was left, which wasn't quite enough, but just add some blue stripes and voila, one quilt back ready for sandwiching.

This is such a great beginner-friendly quilt, particularly for those that have just mastered the half-square-triangle that I thought I would write a tutorial on it, so make sure you check back in for that post next week.

Till then, Happy Quilting!
