Sewing Challenge

Those of you following me on Facebook and Instagram will have seen that I've joined the 52 Week Sewing Challenge on Facebook. Each week there is a different challenge for us to complete and post.

I'm really looking forward to branching out a bit with my sewing during this challenge. While of course I will still be quilting, it's going to be fun to also try out some different areas of sewing and make some things that I probably wouldn't have tried out otherwise.

Week 1 was simply to clean up your sewing space. Which I had told myself I had to do before I could start another project in any case. My fabric is all neat and organised again now. I particularly love my pile of batik fabrics, so pretty, I just need to come up with the perfect pattern to use them in now, I'm thinking maybe a New York Beauty quilt.

Week 2 we were challenged to complete a UFO. There were a few people posting that they had to reject the challenge as they didn't have any unfinished objects to complete! I'm not really sure how any sewer could have no UFOs at all, I thought it was a requirement to have at least three projects somewhere in your room waiting to be finished. So for my week 2 challenge I finished off "Calling All Trunks". Here's a picture of Tilly, you can see last week's post for the full quilt.

This week, week 3, the challenge was for us to sew a pattern that we already owned but had never made before. And so I made myself a brazi by Stitch Upon A Time. This is super comfortable, I think I'll have to make myself couple more.

I'm really liking this challenge so far and am hoping to be able to keep up with the different challenges each week as well as my quilting. Next week's challenge is to make something red, so come back then to see what I've got planned.

Happy sewing!
