In the Garden

And so starts the next quilt. I had been drawing up different butterfly designs with the plans of a butterfly quilt, however then I decided to throw in some flowers and other bugs, and so a new quilt design came to be.

I particularly love the snails in this one, aren't they just the cutest?

I've got three of eight applique blocks done so far. You might be wondering where the butterfly mentioned above is, well it's currently being sewn up, I should have it and another flower block done by the end of the weekend.

I love the scrappy look of lots of fabrics put together, and it's a great way to use up my ever growing pile of scraps. This tulip block alone has 21 different fabrics in it!

Still to come is a butterfly, caterpillar, dragonfly and two more flower blocks. In between these I'm planning on lots of random pieced blocks which will hopefully put at least a small dent in my scrap pile.

Till next time, happy quilting!
