A Quilting Hold-Up

Lately I have been jumping on the machine during just about every nap time, trying to get my Safari quilt quilted and finished. Unfortunately two days ago, while practicing some free-motion ferns that I’m considering putting in the main border, my machine broke. The whole bobbin case jumped up out of it’s hole and now will not rotate as it should with the needle movements!

So while my quilting has been put on hold for the moment I am going to focus my available time on my pattern writing. First up is my nativity advent calendar. I absolutely loved having this on my wall last Christmas, unfortunately there was no-where near enough time for me to get the pattern written up and out to you guys in time to make it for December first, and so it got put on the back burner. Now however, the new plan is to have the pattern written up and available in my Etsy shop for Christmas in July next month. This gives you plenty of time to get it made up in time for this year’s December first.

Once I’ve got my advent calendar pattern done it will be back to work on the Safari quilt. I was particularly hoping to have it quilted and bound in time for my son’s arrival in a few weeks, unfortunately with my machine out of action for now that probably won’t happen. However I will get to work on digitising my drawings for the pattern, hopefully having the pattern available soon after the quilt itself is finished.

Hopefully none of your machines are sick like mine and you are getting lots of sewing done!

Happy Sewing.
